1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how YuScan ("the App") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our app. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Analytics and Usage Data

We use privacy-focused analytics to understand how the App is used and improve our service. This may include device model, operating system version, locale, app version and build number, and device name. This data is collected anonymously and does not identify you personally.

2.2 Subscription and Purchase Data

Subscriptions are handled through Apple. We use a third-party service to manage subscription status, but we do not receive or store your payment card information, billing address, or other financial data.

2.3 Support and Feedback

If you contact us for support, we may collect your email address and the contents of your message to respond to your inquiry.

2.4 App Data Stored Locally

Your collections, decks, scans, preferences, and settings are stored locally on your device. This data is not automatically uploaded to our servers. It remains entirely under your control.

3. Camera and Images

YuScan uses your device camera solely for card scanning. Card recognition is performed entirely on-device using machine learning. Raw camera images are not stored, transmitted, or shared. Camera data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to share a screenshot or card image.

4. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the App's features and functionality
  • Measure app performance and identify issues
  • Manage subscriptions and in-app purchases
  • Respond to your support requests and feedback
  • Deliver card database updates and exchange rate data to your device

5. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers: Third-party services that help us operate the App (analytics, subscription management)
  • Legal requirements: When required by law, regulation, or legal process
  • Affiliate links: Marketplace links to TCGPlayer, Cardmarket, and eBay may contain affiliate identifiers for commission tracking

6. Data Retention

Data stored locally on your device persists until you delete it or uninstall the App. Analytics data is retained only as long as operationally necessary and is regularly purged.

7. Your Choices

You can:

  • Delete your collections, decks, and scan history within the App at any time
  • Clear the image cache and downloaded data from the App's settings
  • Manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID settings
  • Uninstall the App to remove all locally stored data

8. Children

YuScan is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

9. Network Requests

The App connects to our servers to download card database updates and currency exchange rates. These requests do not include personal information. After the initial download, the App works entirely offline.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected with an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
