Find any card instantly.

Search & Discovery

Instant search across cards, expansions, and archetypes. Filter by attribute, type, rarity, level, and more.

Search is the workhorse feature in any card-database app. A scanner is faster when you have the physical card; search is the only option when you do not. YuScan ships an instant full-text search across cards, archetypes, expansions, and set codes, with advanced filters for every queryable field on a Yu-Gi-Oh! card. Most queries return results in under 50 milliseconds, indexed locally on your iPhone.

The search index covers more than card names. Effect text is indexed in all six supported languages, so a player who remembers "negate the activation of a Spell Card and destroy it" can find Solemn Strike without remembering the name. Archetype names are first-class citizens — searching "blue-eyes" returns the Blue-Eyes archetype landing page with every related card, not a flat list of cards that happen to mention blue eyes in their effect text.

Discovery is search at a different scale. The advanced filters and the archetype browser are the way most players actually find new cards: filter by attribute, type, rarity, level, and frame type until you see the small slice you care about, then drill into individual printings. This is the workflow used by deck builders deciding what to brew next and by collectors deciding what to chase.

How YuScan search and discovery works

Search runs against a local index built when the database syncs. Names, archetype names, set codes, set names, and effect text are all indexed; type-ahead suggestions appear within a few keystrokes as you type. Diacritics and case differences are normalized, so "élémentaire HÉROS" and "elemental hero" return the same results. Misspellings within a Levenshtein-distance threshold are matched too.

Filters compose. Attribute (DARK, LIGHT, FIRE, WATER, EARTH, WIND, DIVINE), card type (Monster, Spell, Trap), frame type (Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, Pendulum, Link), level / rank / link rating, ATK and DEF ranges, rarity, ban-list status, and archetype membership can all be combined into a single filtered query. The result is a sortable list — by name, by price, by release date — with the same per-printing detail you see on a card page.

The expansion browser is a different lens on the same data. Every set in the database has its own page with card counts by rarity, a complete checklist, your collection progress, and direct links to every card. The archetype browser is parallel: every named card family has a page listing every member with current banlist status and live pricing.

When to use search and discovery

Use search when you know the card. Type the name, get the page, see every printing and every price in under a second. This is the default workflow for ban-list lookups, ruling references, and price checks.

Use the filters when you do not know exactly what you are looking for but you know what shape it should be. Building a Light-attribute Synchro toolbox? Filter for Light Synchro monsters with ATK ≥ 2400, sort by current price, and you have a curated list of candidates. Building a budget control deck? Filter for Counter Trap cards under $5 with no banlist restriction and you have your tech-card pool.

Use the archetype browser when you are exploring an unfamiliar deck. Every archetype page lists the full card pool, the boss monsters, the support cards, and the searchers, with live pricing and ban-list status. This is the single best way to scope out a deck before committing to building it physically.
